what we do..
front end / back end
Most dynamic projects require a front and backend system. Cookra has been developing these systems since the late 90's. As technology has evolved so has our skill.
Bringing content to the world-wide-web can be a time consuming operation. With today's technologies we can bridge the gap between the end user and the client. Cookra has developed many CMS (Content Management Systems) for our clients, each one tailored to our clients needs..
The days of design companies charging the earth for update's has gone, back end integration provides 24/7 access to content and invaluable site statistics.
database integration
As with front and back end systems, databases are the backbone of today's truly dynamic sites. Cookra specialise in database integration and CGI (Common Gateway Interface) scripting that control the queries.
Remember a database enables mass information storage, tie that in with templated systems and an unlimited amount of information can be viewed by only a few well scripted pages..
The days of design companies creating hundreds of pages to view products are gone, databases provide dynamic content at a very low cost.
e-commerce
Cookra has a well established record of providing E-Commerce solutions. Our designers and developers provide the very latest in secure transaction and order management applications. We build most of or systems from scratch, working through each design vigorously followed by multi user and platform testing.
Our team can advise on the best merchant solutions available, we can even integrate Paypal and Worlpay.
flash
Flash has come along way.. Today's applications on or offline can benefit enormously through Flash integration. With the ability to include video / audio streaming, XML and other technologies we believe Flash to be an invaluable tool in modern design architecture.
Our design team has a long and trusted knowledge of Flash and its latest addition to scripting Actionscript 3.
cd-rom / dvd production
With technology such As Adobe Flash and Macromedia Director, cd-rom and dvd production possibilities are endless. Cookra have developed various projects for Disney, Pixar, Nevica and Sony Entertainment. Our team can manage offline projects from development to mass-production and packaging.
kiosk
As with cd-rom and dvd production, our design team use the same technologies to create media-rich static content for kiosks, situated in shopping centers and tourist information hot-spots.
Unlike cd-roms and dvd applications kiosk projects can hold much more information and with an active web connection the information and control becomes almost endless.
As kiosk's are custom built machines, the applications can be bandwidth free, allowing access to high-end 3D and technologies otherwise impossible through the worl-wide-web. Touch screen interaction can also be added.
posters
All designers at Cookra have print knowledge. We have been creating print designs since day one, current clients include TCG and Sailors Pub and Nightclub, Walkabout, Jucy and Screem.
Our competitive printing and design prices can't be beaten, so if it's A4 to A0 or larger we can help..
flyers
Flyers are our favorite print design work.. We provide flyers for Clubs all over the United Kingdom, as with our Poster designs our prices can't be beaten.. For our latest print design price list click here

hosting
Cookra has teamed up with one of the leading UK hosting specialists. Located in London, Telecity's Redbust Data Centre owns and operates many of the world’s most advanced data centers.
Each Data center is equipped with the following features
• Redundant Power Feeds
• Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems
• Backup Diesel Generator Power
• 24 x 7 Monitored Security
• Environmental-control Units
• Fire-suppression Systems
• 24 x 7 system administrators on-site to monitor and maintain the data center infrastructure and client equipment
global network operations center
The Globix / Telecity Redbus Global Network Operations Center (GNOC), located in New York City, serves as the command, control and communications center for all Globix / Telecity Redbus network operations and customer support centers. Staffed 24 x 7 with teams dedicated to maintaining the highest quality of service, the GNOC utilizes state-of-the-art equipment and technology for monitoring and managing the network and identifying and resolving problems.
advanced security
Globix / Telecity Redbus Data Centers provide you with multiple security features, including video surveillance by both visible and hidden cameras, motion sensors, biometric identification systems, controlled photo ID key-card access and 24-hour security-guard patrols.
At all times, Globix / Telecity Redbus Security Personnel are on duty to ensure the safety of your systems and your employees.
Security guards are stationed at every entrance to the site guaranteeing that entry is strictly limited to authorized personnel and to properly account for all equipment entering and leaving the facility. Each guard is supplied with up-to-the-minute access rights information that is linked to Globix / Telecity Redbus Internal Security tools to ensure complete security.
In addition to the security desk, Globix / Telecity Redbus Security personnel man a complex system of monitoring applications designed to oversee the security of the entire facility from data centers to generators. These controls ensure that your systems are protected from unwanted visitors and that access to critical systems is restricted.
In addition to electronic keycards, access to our secure data center facilities is restricted by biometric fingerprint scanners that ensure every user is who they claim to be. The scanners require that the thumb used on the sensor match the print in the system, be within a standard temperature range and have a detectable pulse.
server specifications
Over the last 10 years we have gone from Cobalt RaQ3 32Mb Servers to the most powerful state of the art servers on the market. Our current servers are all the same, all servers are less than 1 year old, and get changed out for newer ones when they get to around 12 months.
The current server specifications are as follows,
• 1U Supermicro 6015C-M3B Rackmount Server
• Dual Intel® 64-bit Xeon® Quad-Core E5320, 2.5Ghz, 1333Mhz FSB 12Mb Cache
• 8192Mb DDR 667Mhz FBD Memory
• 2 x 500Gb 15,000rpm SATA II Hard Drives in 3Ware RAID 1 (Hot Swapable)
• 1 x 500Gb 15,000rpm SATA II Hard Drive for Incremental Backups (Hot Swapable)
• 520W High-efficiency Power Supply
• Dimensions: 43mm x 437mm x 503mm (H x W x D) weighing in at 14.1 Kg
• 24/7 Permanent KVM Over IP Access & APC Remote Reboot Switch Ports
• Operating System: CentOs Enterprise Linux 5.0 with Apache 2 and CPanel 11
For each cluster of three web servers we have one database server, the same spec as above. These are grouped in blocks of 4 servers connected to a 24 Port Cisco 2960-24TT-L Catalyst Switch with a Dual 1000Mbit Gigabit Uplink to the main Cisco ASA 5510 Firewall that is capable of handling 130,000 concurrent sessions at once, yes that's a huge amount! It also takes up to a 300 Mbps throughput.
We have a good number of these servers currently running in many of our own secure cabinets at the BlueSquare datacentre in Maidenhead. If you are interested in leasing any servers from us, there is no minimum order of servers, anything from one upwards, please call us on 07815 950558.
